R.I.P. Michael Jackson

They call him weird, they called him wacky…he was involved in many alleged inappropriate dealings with younger people, married, divorced, raised in a dysfunctional family and had changed his looks so much, that it was difficult to know whether he was actually the same Michael Jackson as the one who sang Rockin Robin…or Thriller for that matter.  

Despite the press, despite the rumours, and despite what you may think of Michael Jackson, he was first and foremost to the world, a truly unique and gifted performer, singer, dancer and songwriter. Who has not heard of Thriller or We Are the World, or seen the ‘moon walk’? Who has not seen a video clip, movie or press release on him? I was watching Scary Movie 3 the other night and who should appear being sent up?

 It’s sad that he never got the chance to finish – or start - his ‘come back’ tour. He was probably one of the most famous people on the planet and now he’s gone at such a young age.
